I grew up skating with my friends in South Central Los Angeles. When I would watch skate videos and flip through skate magazines, I rarely saw people who looked like me and my friends. So, I decided to start Crenshaw Skate Club to represent us in the skate industry. But, I did not want the representation to stop with just me and my friends. The overall goal of Crenshaw Skate Club is to represent and empower inner city skaters all over the world.

Boomyard, a celebrated Caribbean event, is the brainchild of Leslie Cooney, whose deep roots lie in Caribbean music. With 30 years of specialization in Caribbean A&R and artist management and having grown up in the Cali reggae scene, Leslie brings a unique fusion to Boomyard. This monthly LA street-dance and sound-system experience at Delicious Pizza features artists like Shaggy and Mr. Vegas. Globally, Boomyard curates stages, connecting Caribbean and African music. Through a partnership with the California Vibrations Festival, Boomyard amplifies these cultural beats, offering emerging artists a platform to connect with North American fans.
